Let's see,
what should I tell you? Well...
I love the
fine television works of
Joss Whedon,
although my true TV love will
always be the first three seasons of
Moonlighting. I know the difference
between a Phillips and a Robertson screwdriver. I love the
way light makes anything beautiful. I love the smell of
wood-smoke on a rainy West Coast autumn evening
The
three most breathtaking things I've ever seen are the Grand
Canyon, the
Chagall Windows at the Art Institute of Chicago,
and the full moon shining on the snowy mountains of the
Bella Coola Valley.
I love to read Jane
Austen but I don't like to get in discussions about it. I
love all animals except for rodents - those make me jump on
chairs and scream like a girl.
If I were on
a desert island, the five cds I'd want with me are: An
inflatable one, an edible one, one made of quinine, one made
of an emergency blanket and the fifth would be 'Fisherman's Blues' by
The Waterboys.
I'll go camping any time of year. My collection of Bonne Bell lip-balm is vast
and ever-growing.
Dorothea Lange is my favourite
photographer and my inspiration. My heroes are Muhammad Ali
and Princess Leia. Sometimes I eat ice-cream for breakfast. If I were a Muppet I'm
pretty sure I'd be Grover.
But more than anything, what I want you to know about
me is that I am a photographer.
My whole
life, I've been passionately moved and inspired
by beauty. I find and
hold the beautiful through the lens of my
camera.
It's there in moments, in faces and in perfect
forms of structure, light and grace.
When I'm taking pictures, I
am in my exact right place in the world. It's what I love
best. It's what I do best. And that love goes into each and
every photo I take. Whether it's the kiss at your
wedding, your hands holding your child, the look on your
face when you just start to smile... When I take those
pictures for you, it's a moment of sheer joy for me too.
